Nestled in the rolling hills of the surrounding countryside, is this special Chateau that offers breathtaking views over its 40-acre estate. The meticulously designed gardens guide you through the chateau grounds, past charming outhouses, a music pavilion, and the ruins of an ancient abbey, which now house the chateau's stunning pool.
The chateau has welcomed international visitors since 1560, when King Henri II of France bestowed the royal property upon his favored Italian courtier, Vincenzo Piscilla of Lucca. For centuries, the chateau has been a haven for fascinating writers, artists, and thinkers. Notable guests include Bishop Matteo Bandello, whose original tale of Romeo and Juliet was later immortalized by Shakespeare. Now, your group can follow in the footsteps of these illustrious figures and experience the same magic that has inspired generations.
The chateau offers six beautifully appointed single rooms, each with an ensuite or private bathroom. Every room is elegantly decorated with a blend of antiques and treasures collected from the owner's travels, while rich fabrics and tapestries adorn the walls and windows, creating an atmosphere of warmth and charm.
The nearest airports are Bordeaux and Toulouse, with transfers available from Agen train station or, upon request, directly from the airport.
