During your retreat at Little French Retreat, you'll find yourself immersed in the charm and tranquility of a cozy, comfortable country house nestled in the historic village of Montesquieu, in southwest France.
The house, though unassuming from the outside, reveals itself to be surprisingly spacious, with thoughtfully designed corners and soothing colours that create an inviting atmosphere, perfect for relaxation, creativity, and dreaming. The space is filled with books on health, well-being, and creativity, offering inspiration and insights as you unwind.
Daily life at the retreat is inspired by the serene and communal rhythms of Indian ashrams, where teachers and students live and learn together in harmony. In keeping with this tradition, the retreat fosters a sense of community by encouraging guests to participate in daily chores, creating a collective and collaborative experience.
This intimate setting, with just two guests at a time, allows for deep, meaningful exchanges and often leads to lasting friendships.

Both guest rooms have been thoughtfully decorated in soothing tones to create a peaceful environment that promotes rest and relaxation. Each room is equipped with a high-quality mattress and pure cotton sheets, ensuring you have a comfortable and rejuvenating night's sleep. Each room has an ensuite bathroom, complete with provided toiletries including towels, soap, and shampoo.
During your free time, you can choose from several inviting spaces to unwind. You might borrow a book from the library and settle into the cozy lounge by the warmth of the wood-burning stove, creating a perfect spot for quiet reflection. If you prefer a bit of solitude, the garden offers private spots where you can relax and take in the stunning views over the valley. Alternatively, the shady veranda provides a serene setting to enjoy the tranquil surroundings and the peaceful rhythm of life at the retreat.
residents
Little French Retreat is also home to a lovable menagerie of rescued furry friends, including dogs Lucien and Edie, and a cat named Suri. These animals add an extra layer of warmth and soul to the retreat's atmosphere, making it feel even more like a home away from home. However, the retreat is mindful of guests with allergies or sensitivities. If needed, arrangements can be made for the animals to stay elsewhere during your visit, ensuring your comfort and well-being throughout your stay.
